Worked example

1,000 orders, at the average of 7.54 percent faulty, is 75.4 faulty orders. At $8.50 each, those orders cost $640.90. AddressPill verifies every order at $0.05, so the same 1,000 orders cost $50. That $50 covers the check and the customer correction written back to Shopify.

Faulty orders = orders × percentage ÷ 100. Cost of the problem = faulty orders × your cost per faulty order. AddressPill = orders × $0.05, on every order, not only the ones that fail. The gap is arithmetic on the numbers you entered. It is not a promise that every faulty order is recovered.

Common questions

How is the cost of faulty addresses calculated?

Faulty orders equal orders times the percentage you enter, divided by 100. The cost of the problem equals those faulty orders times the cost you enter for one faulty order. The page opens on 1,000 orders, the average faulty share of 7.54 percent, and $8.50, which is 75.4 faulty orders and $640.90.

What does the $8.50 stand for?

It is a planning assumption for one faulty order, covering a reship, a carrier correction, and support time. Change the field to your own number. It is not a published industry average.

What would AddressPill have cost to fix the problem?

AddressPill charges $0.05 per order for verification and customer correction, on every order, not only the faulty ones. In the worked example, 1,000 orders cost $50. That bill is what AddressPill would have charged to check the orders and let customers correct the address before fulfillment.

Does the calculator claim AddressPill removes every faulty order?

No. It puts the cost of the faulty orders you entered next to the AddressPill bill for the same order count. It does not measure how many addresses a particular store fixes.
